The Thames has been a willing recipient of broken hearts, lost treasure, discarded dreams and detritus for two millennia. During low tide, its murky waters deposit long-lost fragments of the city on the foreshore.
Our fourth collection, Mudlarker, imagines some of the detritus lost in time, a Tudor lovers token, a Georgian barge lock: treasures unearthed whilst sifting the rocks, oyster shells, broken glass and mud of the river bed.
The collection uses Elizabethan goldsmithing techniques and man-made gemstones emphatic to this period. Finally, the finish has been aged, suggesting years at the bottom of the river.
