How to use our Gold Exchange

How to use our Gold Exchange?
CALCULATE YOUR METALS’ VALUE
First, check the type and weight of your precious metal. The type of metal can be determined by its hallmark (use our helpful guide to reading hallmarks here), and weight can be easily measured using kitchen scales.
Next, enter these details into the indicative calculator below for an estimate of your metal’s value. The prices change daily and are set by the London Bullion Market, though we offer 7.5% above market value to incentivise recycling.

The estimation is based on the metal weight you provided. The final value will be determined by the in-person appraisal.
REQUEST A PRE-PAID RESUSABLE POUCH
If you would like to go ahead with your exchange, please complete the form below to let us know if you would prefer to be sent a reusable pouch with a prepaid label enclosed for posting your metals or a PDF of the prepaid envelop via email, which can be printed and attached to packaging you have at home.
Our pouches and labels are guaranteed for next day delivery and are insured up to a value of £2,500. Due to your parcels value, please note that it will need to be dropped in at a post office.
POST YOUR METALS
Please scan the QR code included in the pouch or use the link on the email to read our simple guide to packaging your metals. This includes taking a picture of the metal you wish to exchange, which helps us keep an accurate record of the metals we expect to arrive at the studio.
Please note that our prepaid pouches and labels are only free of charge when the metal value is at least £250. If the parcel value is below that, the value needed to make £250 will be deducted from the price of your credit note.
RECEIVE CREDIT
Within two working days of your parcel’s arrival, our skilled team will assess your metals and email you a credit note in exchange for them.
If your metal is not hallmarked, we will send you an email advising that it may need to be sent to our workshop for x-ray testing so that it can be accurately valued before your credit note is determined. This process can take an additional 7-10 working days.
Please note that the final price of your credit note may increase or decrease from the online calculator’s estimation. This is because the value of individual metals fluctuates daily. As such, the value of your metal will be fixed according to the market on the day it is received at our studio.
Once your note is safely in your inbox, spend it towards any piece of your choosing, knowing that your kind action has helped to keep our recycled jewellery up and running!
